Junaid is an outstanding artist who was born in Cape Town, South Africa. He has always had a keen interest in the creative arts. He attended DF Malan High School, where he graduated with a distinction in Art. He then enrolled at the University of Cape Town (UCT), where he attended The Art Summer School and achieved a Hirt & Carter Graphic Art Diploma, with a major in Graphic Techniques in 1998.
While studying at UCT Junaid developed a secret silver technique. Using different methods of layering and embedding heavy textures in his artwork. He uses the negative white space around his subject matter to place the focus on the subject and create emotion.
Junaid has exhibited his works around the world including major exhibitions in New York, Knysna, Johannesburg, Miami, Dubai and Las Vegas. Junaid sells his works to buyers all over the globe.
In the Sénéchal-Senekal paintings you will see the use of acrylic and mixed media on wooden board and the use of large areas of negative white space. What is impressive is the careful attention to detail when observing the artwork, especially the silver medium that shines through.
