Round Ashanti Masks (also known as Asante)
These masks are brought to life through dance and the atmosphere of the occasion. Many times, the wearer of the mask would also wear an elaborate costume to conceal their identity and add to the mysticism of the mask. This mask belongs to the Akan tribe in Ghana.
These masks are made from wood and have thin copper plating engraved with detail.
We have a great selection of these masks. Each mask is uniquely different - each mask has a different bird on the top, the mounth is also different, as well as the copper plate engraving being different on each mask.
