These masks originate from Angola, parts of Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Zaire). They are hand-made from wood, raffia and on occasions cowrie shells. These masks are used in ceremonies honoring chiefs and ancestors. This mask comes on a custom made stand and is approximately 37cms tall (including stand).
